Does daisy seem like a good mother?

Daisy is not, therefore, a good mother because she simply shows off her daughter instead of loving and caring for her. Perhaps some of Daisy’s behavior stems from the era. Women were increasingly scorning traditional behavior as they sought more freedom.

While I was writing we ran into the question “How would you describe Daisy’s quality as a mother?”.

The most common answer is; daisy’s quality and ability as a mother can be deduced from her character and how she conducts herself throughout the events that take place in the book. In short, Daisy comes off as shallow.

What did Daisy do on her wedding day?

, and why? What does this reveal about daisy? She received a letter from someone and got completely drunk. Got roaring drunk, cried uncontrollably, threw her expensive pearls which were a present from Tom in the trash, and almost called off her wedding.

While I was reading we ran into the question “Why does Daisy get drunk on the eve of her wedding?”.

We know that Daisy is not a drinker, yet on the eve of her wedding she gets drunks after reading the letter. It is sad, because although she deeply loved Gatsby, she marries Tom and has remained faithful to him. Tom on the other hand has not remained faithful to Daisy.

Daisy tells Jordan to give the string of pearls back to Tom and to tell everyone that the wedding is off. Then Daisy cries while clutching a letter in her hand. This is a letter from Gatsby.

Why doesn’t Nick feel sympathy for Daisy?

And since Daisy turns Gatsby down, it’s unlikely Nick would be sympathetic toward her. We don’t know very much about Daisy or her internal life—aside from Chapter 1, Nick doesn’t have any revealing conversations with her and we know little about how her motivations or emotions change over the novel .

What does the Great Gatsby reveal about Daisy’s relationship with Pammy?

Though F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (1925) doesn’t explain much about Daisy’s relationship with her daughter Pammy, Daisy’s hopes for her daughter reveal much about her status as a mother.

Yet another query we ran across in our research was “What was in Gatsby’s letter to Daisy before her wedding?”.

When Daisy was a young girl, she fell in love with Jay Gatsby. They were young and he was leaving for the war. They did not stay together and she marries Tom. Before her wedding, she receives a letter from Gatsby. We do not know what was in that letter.

Gatsby explicitly ties Daisy and her magnetic voice to wealth. This particular line is really crucial, since it ties Gatsby’s love for Daisy to his pursuit of wealth and status. It also allows Daisy herself to become a stand-in for the idea of the American Dream. We’ll discuss even more about the implications of Daisy’s voice below.
